The week before opening is a special time for many of us. We all start taking inventory, knowing that we need to have everything packed and in its place so we don’t forget any of our garb or equipment on the first weekend. The newbie cast members are full of excitement and nerves as they think about their characters, not truly understanding that the moment the canon goes off it will become real. The veterans know well enough by now and still revel in anticipation of the fast-approaching season. For those of you who have waited all year for this to happen the approach is almost palpable. You can breathe in and smell the dirt roads and fresh-cut grass, the cold ale, and sizzling meats. It’s almost here.
Every year brings us entertainment from near and far. We delight in our favorites returning to the stage while catching new stage acts that we hope to see again. Our 2022 season hopes to bring this in abundance with nine weekends to delight in. The Ohio Renaissance Festival will be open every weekend from Labor Day till the end of October and from 10:30 am until 7 pm, giving our guests plenty of time to enjoy shows, shopping, and sustenance.
For some lucky guests, the festivities began early with a special Preview Day, allowing our ORFans members to join in during Dress Rehearsals and catch a glimpse of what’s coming.
There’s no room for boredom as you travel throughout our faire! Every stage is lit and ready to keep you smiling from open to close. So pick a seat and prepare for a show.
Our cast members are waiting around every corner to delight and entertain you in the lanes and on stage. Be sure to support our hard-working villagers by attending their many shows throughout the day.
