What’s Happening in Warren County?

The Ohio Renaissance Festival is still over a month away, but while we wait for the gates to open, there are dozens of amazing venues you can visit in Warren County. We are lucky to be located in Ohio’s playground, where there is always something fun to do. From local farmers markets to county fairs, you can find activities for people of all ages.

“Buy Fresh, Eat Local.”

The Franklin Farmers Market is held every Saturday this summer over on Fourth Street in downtown Franklin. With thirteen years of homegrown, local quality, they are working to connect their community through small business support. You can follow them on Facebook for updates on special events and who will be vending at the markets that weekend. It’s a great place to spend your weekend mornings and grab a few treats before the heat kicks in!

Warren County Fairgrounds

July 20-25, Monday through Saturday: 8 AM – 11 PM
Admission $12 – $15

Nothing says summer in Ohio like a county faire! 4-H features include dog shows, livestock judging and auctions, fiber arts craftsmanship, and more. Competition sports like Barrel Racing, KOI ATV Racing, and Derby Dynamics Autocross are sure to get your blood pumping! The carnival rides and games are a must-see, with classic family-fun around every corner. And don’t forget the food! Corn dogs, funnel cakes, cotton candy, lemonade, and more. All the very best in one packed week!

Caesar Creek Meteor Shower Campout

August 8th, 4 PM
LINK

Sponsored by the NCACC (Nature Center Association of Caesar’s Creek), this event returns every year as a special opportunity to camp at the public beach and experience the wonder of the night sky. Pass the time by playing games for all ages, exploring the demonstrations, and meeting with special guests who come to educate visitors about the park and nature. Concessions are for sale at the even and as the sun goes down, the bonfire picks up! This state park is nicely placed away from man-made light sources and makes for an excellent viewing area of the night sky.

Ren Fest Kick Off at Sonders Brewing Taprooms

Fri, July 31st, 6 PM – 9 PM
LINK

Just can’t wait for faire? That’s alright. We’ve thrown together a little shindig with one of our sponsors, Sonder’s Brewing, for a night of adventure and entertainment. Meet the cast of the Ohio Renaissance Festival and take photos with the Cincinnati Barbarians, the premier Cincy armored combat team! There will be vendors, weapon and armor demonstrations, and plenty to drink. Come in garb (costume) and enjoy the revelry like royalty, or wear whatever is comfortable and have some fun with us!

What’s your favorite summer fun? Maybe you like camping at the state parks or going on a shopping spree at street fairs. Enjoying your local community is a great way to get involved and explore the adventures right at your fingertips. So get out there and tell us what you did to make summer exciting!
